Design Technology Children’s Engineering

In addition to the core subjects of math, science, social studies and language arts, the students at Cooper learn about the different fields of engineering. Using a children's engineering curriculum, students assume the role of aerospace, electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil and environmental engineers to solve real world problems. Preparing to work in career fields not yet developed, students learn problem solving and other 21st Century skills as they use the engineering problem solving loop to complete design challenges. Character counts at Cooper and shows when our students wok together in cooperative groups. They develop their communication skills by participating in discussions and sharing what they discovered when working through a challenge.
